Description
The RYA Powerboat Level 2 (PB2) course offers a hands-on introduction to powerboat handling and safety. It covers essential boating techniques, including launching and recovering from a trailer, everyday handling, and using safety equipment. Training takes place on our versatile Humber Destroyer, a Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) used worldwide—from Antarctica to the Equator.
This two-day course is perfect for beginners. It builds confidence for independent day trips and provides a safe, structured environment to learn powerboating.
With an RYA Powerboat Level 2 certificate, you can apply for an International Certificate of Competence (ICC). Recognised worldwide, this certification is often required for boat charters in other countries.
Our MCA Commercially Endorsed Skippers lead all courses. Each instructor has at least 10 years of experience handling small craft and holds an RYA Powerboat Instructor Qualification.
- For those looking for a shorter introduction, we also offer the he RYA Powerboat Level 1 Course. This one-day program provides a basic foundation in powerboating.
All RYA courses are supplied by the RYA Registered Training Centre “Wavelength Training Ltd” at our address in Carrickfergus, Northern Ireland or through the RYA Interactive training site.
Own boat tuition can be facilitated at other locations around Northern Ireland, but instructor availability may vary at other locations.
